Dear sponsors, donors, and friends of K.O.L.,
Since our last update in the summer of 2025, the association has been hard at work! Thanks to
your continued loyalty and invaluable support, we have reached major milestones for the
education of children in the Kep province of Cambodia.
Here is an overview of what we have accomplished together in recent months and the wonderful
projects ahead.
Second Half of 2025: Launching the “French Classes”
As announced, the second half of 2025 marked the official launch of our major French Classes
project, conducted through a trilateral partnership with the Centre Éducatif Kep (CEK) and the
association Les Enfants du Sourire Khmer Cambodge, under the High Patronage of Her
Royal Highness Princess Sylvia SISOWATH.
Concretely, our actions focused on building solid foundations:
- Renovated facilities: While the Royal House covered the complete renovation of the
buildings, K.O.L. took charge of the interior equipment. - Furniture & Supplies: Custom-made tables, benches, and cupboards built by local
artisans, along with educational supplies (slates, stationery) for around forty children. - Digital equipment: Installation of refurbished computer hardware (computers, tablets,
projector) to introduce the children to the digital world.
In parallel, we maintained our ongoing field operations: emergency medical support, school
supplies, and funding for a local English teacher.
2026: Educational Consolidation and Upcoming Field Mission
2026 is the year of sustainability. Our financial contribution (€850/month) ensures class
continuity and the gradual hiring of a local French teacher.
Key highlights of 2026:
- Further equipment: Deployment of audio gear and interactive tablets to make learning
more engaging. - Cultural enrichment: Funding for the students’ first educational outings (cultural visits,
French-language cinema). - Field mission in November 2026: A team of three volunteers from the association will
travel to Kep. This trip will be an opportunity to assess class progress, meet the children,
and bring back new photo and video reports as well as moving testimonials!
Looking Ahead to 2027: A Major Philanthropic Event and Ongoing Commitments
2027 is shaping up to be an exceptional year in more ways than one:
- Extension of the Francophonie project: Our partnership will continue until mid-2027 to
firmly consolidate language skills among our young students. - Grand Philanthropic Gala Dinner in Belgium: To fund our future ambitions, we will host
a major event in Belgium in 2027, in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Sylvia
SISOWATH. This gala will gather patrons and long-standing supporters around our
association’s projects.2
Thank You!
Every single donation translates directly into notebooks, desks, language lessons, and
healthcare for the most underprivileged children of Kep. Our structure is 100% volunteer-run,
ensuring that more than 95% of your contributions go straight to the field.
Stay tuned: as soon as we return from Cambodia in December, we will share the visuals and
faces of this incredible journey with you.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting them.
